Look Out! It's the Format Police!

Yes, I'm a formatting zealot. Many people scoff at the formatting "rules," and I understand why. Sure, if they love your script, they're not going to care that you used "Cut To" too often. But if you're sending your script out to people who don't already love you, I recommend putting out the most acceptably formatted script you can, so they don't judge you for anything other than the quality of your work.

The humor in this post made the frustration around formatting rules feel a lot more relatable than most academic discussions. I remember losing points on a paper over tiny spacing mistakes while searching for ways to Pay Someone To Take My Online Class because juggling multiple deadlines became overwhelming. Your writing does a great job showing how strict formatting expectations can sometimes distract from the actual quality and effort behind a student’s work.
